Normally increases in the redundancy payment take place in February each year.

Despite having had an increase in February it has been decided that to support employees in the recession there will be further increase this year. The cap on statutory redundancy pay will, therefore, increase from £350 to £380 per week.

The good news is that there will not be another increase until February 2011.
